Bits & Pieces is my way of keeping in touch with all of you in our High Noon Show dealer family. I’ll include news about the show and things you should know. Check monthly for updates!
PS Feel free to contact me at the High Noon office:
(310) 202-9010 or theresa@highnoon.com
Dear High Noon Dealers,
Thank you so much for your support over the last two months. Danny is recovering beautifully and even has a fishing trip lined up at the end of this week. What more could we ask for?
We are both back to work...Danny has slowly worked up to part-time, and as of this week, I'm almost full-time.
I want to thank you all for your patience. I know that I usually have contracts in the mail right about now...but as you can imagine, I'm several weeks behind in my work. Dealer contracts are my first priority when we return from Denver, in early July and you may expect them by the end of August.
In the meantime, here's some basic information for you:
What: 20th Anniversary High Noon Western Americana Antique Show
Where: Mesa Convention Center / 263 N Center St / Mesa, AZ 85201
When: Dealer set up: Jan 29; Show open to public: Jan 30-31, 2010
"Bits & Pieces" was created for me to keep in contact with all of you, so you know what's going on. I'll have more details for you in the July issue of Smoke Signals. Of course, if you have any questions or concerns, you can contact me at the office (310) 202-9010.
Danny & I leave for Denver on June 16th. I hope to see you all at the Cody Old West Show & Auction...it's going to be a BLAST!
We'll see you down the trail,
Theresa:)
P.S. Robin is busy creating a NEW website for us...once it's up & ready to go, all dealer info & forms will be up there for you. YIPPEE!
Dear High Noon Dealers,
It was great to see so many of you at the Cody Old West show in Denver. I'd been
to the Denver Merchandise Mart for many different events over the last 30+ years,
but that was the prettiest I'd ever seen it. Hats off to Brian and his show managers, Deb & Roz Broussard, and their decorator Chris Bailey & the Dynamic Events' crew.
Well done everyone!
We're back at the office in Los Angeles, and ready to put on our cowboy hats and get back to work. Linda
& I meet tomorrow to begin work on the 2010 High Noon show contracts. We expect them to go out at the end of August.
In the meantime, if you have any questions or concerns, you can contact me at the office: (310) 202-9010 or Theresa@highnoon.com
We'll see you down the trail,
Theresa
Dear High Noon Dealers,
I'm getting excited about our move to Mesa. The folks over there are easy to work with & have welcomed us back with open arms. What more could we ask for?
As I mentioned in the July issue, contracts are expected to go out the end of August. We are going to do something new this year...we're sending them out via email. Please make sure we have your current email address on file (info@highnoon.com).
If you do not have an email address, no worries, we will mail your contract the old-fashioned way - via the post office. If you've moved since last January, please call the office (310-202-9010) to make sure we have your current mailing address.
Dealers, please keep in mind our show space in Phoenix was massive, and Mesa is obviously a much smaller venue, therefore we have many more dealers than we have space for.
To help with this situation, we are no longer offering our large (24', 30' & 40') booths, and we're capping the number of tables you can reserve to two, with an option for more if available. We're going to make the best use of our space as possible, and get as many of you in as we can.
When you receive your contract, if you seriously want a space at the show, it's up to you, to get your contract & deposit in asap. No dillydallying! Do not wait for a follow-up phone call. We're going to operate on a first-come, first-served basis.
Seniority will take precedence only if your contract is in BEFORE or ON the day it's due. NO exceptions!
I will contact you if your contract comes in after we've reached full capacity, and you can tell me if you'd like me to hold on to your deposit & place you on the waiting list, or if you'd like me to return your deposit.

The Mesa Convention Center & the Phoenix Marriott Mesa are located directly next to each other. On foot you can easily walk from one building to the other.
FYI- The show entrance for the public will be located closest to the Palo Verde Ballroom. Bidder registration, auction preview & the auction will be held in the Arizona Ballroom (part of the Marriott), just across the walkway.
To see a map of the area & to check out our schedule of events, please go to our website: www.highnoon.com; find & hold the word "Show"; then click on "Dealer Information".
Please contact me at the High Noon office if you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions: (310) 202-9010 or Theresa@highnoon.com.
We'll see you down the trail,
Theresa
P.S. If you're going to be in Santa Fe this month, and will be attending the Whitehawk shows, please stop by the High Noon booth for a visit.
Dear High Noon Dealers,
Well, the contracts have finally been sent & within minutes after hitting the “send” button on the computer, the rumors were flying!
The first rumor I heard was that we’re not going to have any booths at the show…isn’t that silly? Well, our floor plan was just approved by our new Mesa fire marshal (yippee!), & we’re good to go. The show is going to be stunning…and yes, there will be booths!
You can find a copy of the new 2010 floor plan on our NEW website that actually debuts today! Be one of the first to take a peek. You can find the floor plan on the dealer info page. While you’re poking around, check out the other goodies we have there for you.
Once you’ve downloaded a copy of your floor plan, take my arm & we’ll take a virtual “walk-through” of the show together…not too fast, I’m wearing my boots!
Here we go…are you ready?
The one and only public entrance to the show is closest to the Palo Verde Ballroom. The last time we were in Mesa, the entrance was at the lobby by the Main Hall. I’m hoping you’ll like this a lot better.
Let’s visit the Palo Verde Ballroom first. You may notice that it’s bigger than it was the last time we were here. That’s because we only used two-thirds of it. Remember, we used the other third for our auction preview? The auction & the preview have moved across the way to the ballroom at the Phoenix Marriott Mesa, so we don’t have to share the space anymore.
As you can see, the entire perimeter of the PVB, with the exception of a few doorways, will be booths, and tables will fill the center of the room.
The public will have three doors to choose from when entering the Palo Verde Ballroom, and no matter which door they pick, they will have a beautiful view of the room. Poke your head in and take a look. Nice, huh?
Where to next? Well let’s follow the signs & see where they lead us. Oh, it’s the Gallery! The Gallery is the only walkway between the rooms. As you can see, there are 23 tables lined up against the two walls. I think the table dealers & the public will really like the natural light in here. It has a warm, comfy atmosphere.
Let’s keep walking. Hey, there’s another sign. We’re heading into the Mesa room. Isn’t it beautiful? The room is well lit from all of the track lighting from the booths along the 3-wall perimeter. Oh, there’s a bank of tables in here, too. Looks great!
What is that yummy smell? Coffee! Let’s go to the concession stand! My treat today!
Wow! We’re in the Main Hall! I like that! It feels like the Mesa room & the Main Hall are one big room. The Main Hall looks a lot like it used to. Booths line the two big walls, with banks of tables & booths in between. It’s a showstopper!
I hope you’ve enjoyed taking this virtual tour with me. My goal in laying out the show this way & moving the “flow” of traffic through a little differently is so everyone will feel included.
Truly, there is no “bad” spot in the show. I hope you’re as excited as I am, and that you’re having troubles deciding which room you’d like to be in. If you are, then I’ve done my job!
For those who did not receive a contract, please know that you have not been forgotten, you are still part of our High Noon family, and you are on the waiting list. I’ll contact you as soon as space becomes available.
If you’ve been with High Noon for many years, including our years in Phoenix, and did not receive a contract, or if you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions, please feel free to contact me. #310-202-9010 or Theresa@highnoon.com
We’ll see you down the trail,
Theresa
Dear High Noon Dealers,
The clock's ticking...tick tock! Contracts are due this Thursday (October 15th). They were sent via email September 8th. You should have received a 2-page contract & a "Dealer Info" e-packet. If you or someone you know has been with High Noon for many years, including Phoenix, and did not receive a contract, please give me a holler. It's our first time emailing them, and you never know "where in the cyberspace" they're going to land, or if they did!
Also, don't forget that you can download a copy of the 2010 floor plan from our beautiful new website!
Today I'm going to discuss a topic that is near & dear to all of us...
You guessed it! The Mesa Convention Center Fire Safety Regulations!
I'm going to share this info with you in a question & answer format.
Q: Why?
A: My goal is to inform you, not bore you! (I said that's the goal, I'm not making any promises)
Q: I read the entire "Dealer Info" packet that you sent with my 2010 contract. Are you giving me new information?
A: Okay, raise your hand if you actually read the whole packet. Yeah, that's what I thought! Liar, liar pants on fire...(No pun intended)
Yes, the fire marshal has given me some important info that absolutely needs to be shared with you. Some of this is covered in your packet, but a little reminder never hurt anyone, right?
Q: What does it mean when you say the fire marshal has "approved" our floor plan?
A: It means all systems are go! From this moment on, nothing can be changed or moved out of its place without adjusting the floor plan & getting her approval, well in advance of the show.
Q: I'm a "table" dealer. How does that affect me?
A: Well, it means you may not adjust the whereabouts of your table in any way, and the space "in front" of & "behind" your table is an aisle, not a place to put all your extra stuff. The only thing allowed behind your table is you, the wife, and your chairs. That's it!
If you're a table dealer in the Gallery, your table will be against the wall, and your chair will be beside your table, not behind it.
*Everything you need to know about "Table Dealer Rules & Regs" is in your "Dealer Info" e-packet.
Q: I'm a "booth" dealer. What does that mean for me?
A: Your tables may not stick out in the aisle beyond your 8' walls, and your chairs need to be placed "inside" your booth, so please plan accordingly.
* Everything you need to know about "Booth Dealer Rules & Regs" is in your "Dealer Info" e-packet.
Q: Why does High Noon require that I have a "real" table cover on my table? Why can't I just plop a hide or some old sheets or blankets on my table & who's going to care?
A: The fire marshal may allow you to place your hide on your table, as long as there is a table cover underneath it & it is fire retardant (you can check in with her at the show). The reason High Noon would like you to cover your table properly, is so the public, as well as your High Noon neighbors, does not have to look at all the stuff you've got piled under your table...it's not pretty!
Q: When the show was in Phoenix, we were not allowed to keep cardboard or crates under our tables or in our booths. Will it be the same in Mesa?
A: Duh!
Q: Why does my table cover have to be fire retardant, and who the heck is going to be checking it anyway?
A: The Mesa Fire Department requires it, and you've got to trust me on this, the fire marshal will be coming around and asking to see the manufacturer's tag that is attached to your table cover. The tag should say something in regards to it being treated with fire retardant.
Q: So, what will the fire marshal do if my table cover does not have a fire retardant tag inside?
A: She'll probably throw you and your faulty table cover out onto the street. I don't want to be responsible for scraping you off the pavement, so please don't bring the darn thing!
Q: I'd like to purchase my own fire retardant table covers, but I don't know where to get them.
A: The info is in your "Dealer Info" e-packet. If you've lost it already or used it to line the bottom of your birdcage, you can download another copy from our website. Look for the dealer page.
Q: What size covers should I purchase?
A: "Table" dealers should order the 8' x 2.5' covers. If you're a "booth" dealer please wait until you've received your "Confirmation" packet before ordering your fire retardant table covers. Booth size determines how many & what size tables you'll receive.
Q: Can I rent fire retardant table covers at the show?
A: Of course you can! Dynamic Events will be renting them at the "go to" table at the show, on a first-come, first-served basis for $20 each.
Q: Can I just buy some bottles of fire retardant & do it myself? How hard could it be?
A: Sure, you can do it yourself if you like, but there's a catch. The fire marshal will require proof. Here's what she'll want from you:
Your receipt of purchase of the fire retardant;
Your empty bottles (yes, you'll have to bring them to Mesa with you. You can pack them between your bits & spurs);
FYI - When you apply the fire retardant to your table cover, yourself, it is only good for one year, so you would have to go through this all over again in 2011. Oh joy!
Q: Will the fire marshal test to see if my table cover is really fire retardant?
A: Yes! The fire marshal carries a really big blowtorch with her at all times. Stay out of her way!
Q: Okay, I get the picture. If I have any more questions or just want to whine to you about the rules, how can I reach you?
A: #310-202-9010 or Theresa@highnoon.com
The High Noon Team looks forward to seeing you in January. We're all glad to be going back to Mesa.
We'll see you down the trail,
Theresa

Dear High Noon Dealers,
Twas the month before the show, when all over my desk,
Was a huge pile o' papers, making a gigantic mess;
The 40 or so Rubbermaid tubs were filled with care,
Packing our entire office, to take from here to there;
Confirmation packets will be sent via mail,
The first week of January, away they will sail;
You can download all of the necessary tax forms for free,
From our beautiful new website, you'll find everything you need;
Remember while unloading on dealer set-up day,
That the porters only work for tips, so please remember to pay;
We're inviting early buyers in on dealer set-up day,
But the fire marshal says no one will enter without her final approval, no way;
So please hurry, as fast as you can, to unload your merchandise and clear the aisles,
So that she will allow in all of those beautiful early buyers with smiles.
Happy Holidays to all...we'll see you in January!
T
Dear High Noon Dealers,
Confirmation packets are on their way via the US Postal Service.
Please take the time to look over your contract confirmation, peruse the info packet, and check out the floor plan and parking and load-in maps.
Everything in your packet will help to make things go smoothly for you, especially if you actually read it!
Can't wait to see you all!
T
FYI: At dealer packet pick up in Mesa, we will only give packets to those people listed on your badge list, for your own protection.
Dear High Noon Dealers,
Well it looks like the show was a big success! Did you feel the energy? It was amazing! When I walked through the buildings on Sunday afternoon, it warmed my heart to see so many of you smiling. I hope this is just the beginning of a wonderful year for you all!
T
PS: Danny wanted me to thank everyone for the visits, the prayers and the good wishes. He's doing great!
