Tenison Bros. Saddlery

Saddlery-Saddle Maker
Dallas, TX

Began in Dallas around the turn of the century. As Dallas grew so did Tenison, enabling them to publish a 9 x 12, 315-page catalogue by 1920. A complete saddlery, they stocked a full-line of McChesney bits and spurs in addition to Buermann and Anchor Brand. Contrary to the rampant racism that prevailed in Texas, Tenison realized the potential of the Hispanic market and actually published a portion of their catalog in Spanish, boasting that, “the hand stamping on our saddles is performed by Spanish artists of international reputation.”
