Nigger Boy Brand/Read Bros: JG Read & Bros, WS & OI of Ogden, UT, purchased the old Hodgman Saddlery in 1883. They used the “Nigger Boy Brand”, purportedly named for a famous trotter, until the early 1920s when the Federal Government demanded that they cease for obvious reasons.
