Miles City, MT (Montana Territory): Hugh & Thomas Moran are believed to have started the first & one of the most historic saddlery's in Miles City, Montana in the late 1870s, operating a 2-man shop with limited but high quality leather work. Sold shop in 1895 to Charles E Coggshall who went into a brief partnership with Al Furstnow before eventually becoming the longstanding & popular Miles City Saddlery. The Moran Bros, Miles City, MT marking is one of the most coveted of the celebrated 19th century makers.
