Messing & Son, San Jose, CA: One of the earliest and rarest of the 19th century California bit & spur makers. Pioneered many of the silver inlaid styles and designs that would make the buckaroo spurs world famous. Best known for their “Teddy Roosevelt” presentation spurs. Bits are marked on the underside of the mouthpiece, & spurs on the outside of the heel band by button.
