Grace White
Rodeo Star
1905-1957
Grace White was an accomplished rodeo performer from the early 1920s until 1938. Her specialty was the cowgirl bronc riding event, but early on she rode steers, trick rode and even bulldogged. In the 20s, she also appeared as a performer in the XIT Wild West Show. In the 1930s, Grace completed, along with her sister, Vivian, against the Greenough Sisters, the Creed Sisters, Lucille Richards, Claire Thompson, Tad Lucas, Ruth Roach, Iva Dell Jacobs and most of the other top cowgirl bronc riders of her era. Even though Vivian won the championship title at Madison Square Garden in 1938 and 1941, it has been said by many that Grace was as equally talented as her more vivacious sister.
