1913
BP: Eugene, OR
LKL: Mapleton, OR

Carol Van Curler is a country painter from a small town east of Eugene near the Oregon Coast. It is a peaceful setting, an environment that helps her to paint calm paintings. She presents the simple times where old buildings, covered bridges, old blue pickups and the people of Oregon keep showing up in her paintings. She was one of 16 winners of the Thiess Riverprize Commemorative Art Project, an internationally recognized award for her painting that represented the Siuslaw River Basin.
