Gerald Transpota

Artist
1898-1971

Gerald Transpota was winner of gold and silver medals at the Calgary Stampede Rodeo and Art show from 1921-1925 for his posters. In the 1940s he was a muralist for Universal and Warner Bros studios. His artistic abilities led him to become a master stone engraver of coins and paper money for the National Printing and Engraving Office, and a noted label designer for wineries, breweries, and the Fruit Growers Association.
