Barney Sofro

Collector
1942-2002
BP: Massachusetts
LKL: Los Angeles, CA

Born in Massachusetts but growing up in Los Angeles, Barney began collecting while attending the University of Arizona where he fell in love with both Cowboy and Indian material. He was ubiquitous at all the shows with his big smile, tall hat and his wife, Victoria, by his side. He was a devoted dad to his three children, Jeff, David and Elizabeth. Barney co-founded 800 House of Fabrics stores with his father then rounded out his interests by being a major investor and visitor at the Catalina Jazz Club, a LA institution for jazz musicians. We all miss him.
