R. Michael Kammerer, Jr.

1940-2007
BP: Westhampton, Beach, Long Island
LK: Santa Fe, NM

Born and raised in Westhampton Beach, Long Island, Kammerer graduated from St. Bonaventure University then served in the Special Forces division of the Army National Guard.

A life-long rancher, he ran a upstate New York large cattle ranch while immersing himself in advertising. This dual dream segued into both television and a love for Cowboy and Native American culture. In 1983 Mr. Kammerer founded ITN Networks, his unique concept of selling advertising to independent television stations across the US, which became the largest supplier of non-network prime-time advertising in the country.

By 1991 Kammerer headed to Santa Fe to build his dream ranch providing an authentic backdrop for his collection of art and artifacts. He founded the Code of the West Foundation, a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the common sense values of working for what you get, helping your neighbors, taking care of your family and having your handshake and word be your bond.
