Saddlery-Saddle Maker
BP: Tucson, AZ
LKL: Tucson, AZ
Bill grew up in Tucson, Arizona where he got his first leather tools on his 8th birthday. He cowboyed, rodeoed, and wrangled during his teen years while doing leatherwork for himself and for resale. With pointers from several old saddle makers in the area, Bill made his first saddle in 1970 and the first pair of spurs followed shortly thereafter. He studied California style spur making at the Miller Bit & Spur School. Bill now builds ornate and detailed silver inlaid California bits and spurs in addition to his finely tooled leatherwork. He is considered one of the top contemporary craftsmen in the field and is a founding member of the TCA (Traditional Cowboy Artists).
