Don Easton

Painter and illustrator Don Easton was born in Port Costa, CA on December 29, 1896. Easton was the son of a pioneer railroad executive whose work took the family from place to place. At an early age the younger Easton went to sea and, while traveling the world, studied art in Paris and other European art centers. Following service in WWI, he was active in Monterey in the 1920s. By the 1930s he had settled in Los Angeles where he remained until his death on May 1, 1956. His painting subjects include California landmarks and western scenes.
