Bob Boomer

Artist
1944
LKL: Ahwahnee in Sierras

Bob Boomer began showing his work publicly in 1975. He is one of a growing number of Western sculptors who dare to reach beyond traditional realism, effusing to be limited by exactness of form and detail. This enables him to express with power and dignity his impressions of the deep emotional and spiritual aspects of the human spirit. His favorite subject remains people especially the Native Americans. His sculptures are not intended to represent any particular tribe, but are mythical, earthy, impassioned. His work has been featured in Art of the West, Southwest Art, and Better Homes and Gardens.

His sculptures are produced from manzanita wood found near his California home. Bob also produced limited edition bronzes directly from the original wood sculptures.
