Lorence Bjorklund

Artist
1915-1980s
BP: Minnesota

Lorence Bjorklund was born in Minnesota before 1915. One of the “50 Great Western Illustrators.” As a child, Larry lived near Ft. Snelling and became familiar with horses and the military. He began drawing for the pulp Western magazines and through 1972 he illustrated more than 300 adult and juvenile books. He was Nick Eggenhofer’s only protégé and their work is similar enough to see the influence. Most of his work was done in black and white. He died in the mid 1980s.
