Cyrus Afsary

Afsary studied art as a teenager and soon began painting portraits professionally. Continuing his education, Afsary studied art under the strict discipline of the Russian Realists style of painting, graduating with two degrees. When he was in his early thirties he became a United States citizen and moved to Nevada where he worked as an interior designer. In the mid-1990s he realized his dream of becoming a full time artist and established his studio in Tempe, Arizona. He identifies closely with the Southwestern desert, especially the fascinating history of the land and its people.
