Colorado
Bill was born in 1929 and grew up in SE Colorado surviving both the dust bowl and great depression. His father’s cowboy recollections left a major impression on young Bill, fueling a lifelong interest in cowboy gear. After a stint in the Marine Corps, marriage and a job in the electronics industry, Bill moved to Southern California where he worked in the aerospace industry while completing his B.S. in electrical engineering. In 1968, Bill began teaching electronics technology in Greeley, CO, while also building a cow/calf operation south of Kersey. Both rancher & teacher, Bill began building bits & spurs in 1982 - with pointers from longtime Crockett employees, Charlie Rooks and Al Gabriella - becoming a full-time cowboy trader since his retirement in 1988. Bill, an avid Crockett collector & historian, is past president of the NBSSCA.
